Biden Brags Behind GOP Lines!
(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Following his State of the Union address President Joe Biden headed to Florida on Thursday for his first post-address event. Florida is the home for many top GOP members, including former President Donald Trump, who has already launched his 2024 presidential campaign, as well as Gov. Ron DeSantis who is speculated to be considering joining the presidential race.
Republican Senator Rick Scott is also in Florida. Scott was indirectly targeted through some of the comments Biden made during his State of the Union address regarding GOP members who were interested in sunsetting Medicare and Social Security. Scott had previously proposed in his 11-point plan that federal legislation should expire every five years, and if necessary renewed by Congress at that point. Biden has previously argued that this plan would effectively lead to the expiration of the two programs, which some Republicans would like to see gone.
President Biden’s trip is going to be focused on showcasing his administration’s successes. As he said during a PBS interview it is about making sure that everyone knows their achievements. During his speech at the University of Tampa, Biden once again spoke about Medicare and Social Security and his commitment to protecting these two programs.
Florida-based Republican strategist Ford O’Connell noted that the State of the Union address by Biden did not fit the typical lines of an address because of its partisan nature. He added that for that reason it resembled the kickoff of a presidential campaign more than a State of the Union address.
