(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – A new poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research found that only 33 percent of Americans approve of President Biden’s handling of the economy, while only 24 percent believe that the country is in a good economic condition. These results come after Biden announced that he would be running for reelection in 2024.
Biden has struggled with getting high public approval for his economic policies, especially because of the high inflation rates, the housing market, and the possibility of the U.S. defaulting on its debt. However, the economy is not the only area where Biden’s approval ratings are low. According to the poll, only 31 percent believe that Biden is handling gun policy and immigration issues appropriately.
Overall, Biden’s approval rate was found to be 40 percent, which is similar to the rating he has had for the majority of the last year and a half in office.
Zoie Mosqueda, 24, is from West Texas and does not identify with any political parties. She stated that currently her family is looking to purchase their first home, but based on the current average interest rate, which is around 6.9 percent, that goal is out of reach. She further noted that Biden has not managed to deliver on his promises regarding his gun policy or implementing a fairer immigration policy.
The poll specifically found that among Democrats, only around half of the respondents approved of Biden’s handling of immigration and gun policy.
The poll was conducted from May 11 to May 15 and included 1,680 adults. The margin of error was calculated to be 3.4 percentage points for this poll.
