How will Democrats and the Media Explain a huge loss in 2022?

It is fairly obvious by now that the Democrats are desperate – and they are going to extreme lengths to try to smear the GOP as some sort of malevolent force that will destroy American democracy.  If all things they say about Republicans – from leaders to grassroots voters – were even remotely true, the Democratic Party would be looking forward to its best election since 1932. 

Democrats and their media allies have branded any questions about the 2020 election as the “Big Lie”.  However, their mountain of lies makes the so-called Big Lie look like a gopher hole.  They have labeled the Capitol Hill riot as an insurrection — a coup attempt – that almost felled the Republic.  That is a lie.  They contend that the GOP is carrying out an ongoing conspiracy to steal the 2022 and 2024 elections by hook or (especially) crook in order to establish an authoritarian’s regime. Another lie. 

Because of the advantage, Democrats enjoy with the compliant – and lying – news media, their outrageous claims are given a false sense of credibility.  The bogus narratives are turned into propaganda scenarios that are fed to the people on a 24/7 basis.  The crony elements of the Fourth Estate even attack news outlets that will not go along with the hyperbolic biases and lies. 

We have seen the Democrats’ scorched earth strategy played out over the course of four years with accusations paraded as fact that the Trump campaign had conspired with Russian meddling in the 2020 election.  That false narrative was so outrageous that a two-year investigation could not keep the truth concealed under the left’s avalanche of partisan lies.    

And here we go again.  A very one-sided congressional panel appointed by Speaker Pelosi was supposed to “hold hearings” and “investigate” the events of January 6, 2021.  Those stated purposes of the Select Committee are also lies.  There was never any intention to “hold hearings” or “investigate.”  The purpose of the Select Committee was – and is – to prosecute President Trump, Republican leaders—and in the process smear and malign all Republican candidates and voters. 

It is not even a hidden agenda.   Most of the Select Committee is composed of aggressive former federal prosecutors.  It is in their DNA to build cases to convict by manipulating the evidence and then interpreting it (spinning) for the jury.  In courts, there are restrictions on prosecutors covered in rules-of-evidence, but in the court-of-public-opinion there are no restrictions.  They can lie with impunity – and they do. 

Virtually every left-wing commentator speaks of the need to “make the case” against Trump et al.  The Select Committee must convince the public that their partisan version is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.  That is another lie.  They regularly refer to the output of the Committee as the truth – not opinion, which it really is. 

Talking-head after talking-head declares that the Republic can only be saved by defeating Republican candidates across the country – from the Senate to school boards.  A number of left-wing analysts argue that conservative media, such as FOX News, should be banned.  They really say that.   

Soooo … with all those accusations and foreboding predictions of the demise of the Republic – and the dangerous dishonesty of the right-wing media — there can be no doubt that Republicans are facing an unprecedented loss at the polls in November — and the ratings for conservative news media will be plummeting. 

But wait!!  That is not what is happening. 

The polls show that President Biden’s popularity rating is now below that of President Trump.  How can that be?  Congressional Democrats fair no better.  Voter preference polls not only suggest that the American voters lean toward the GOP, but that Republicans could win the greatest majority in the House since 1928.  How can that be?  

And in terms of FOX News, that network remains by far the number one most-watched cable news – often drawing more views than MSNBC and CNN combined.  How can that be? 

Democrats and the corrupt news media are using every public communication tactic to peddle their mendacious narratives and bogus propaganda against the GOP.  In desperate realization, they are increasing the emotional volume of their “sky is falling” strategy in order to change the voter trajectory before the folks back home start casting their ballots. 

Pelosi’s Capitol Hill dog-and-pony show may well be that last offensive the left can launch to attempt to move the political needle in their favor. That is their intent – but not likely to be the outcome. 

Already, Democrat left-wingers are yelling from the sidelines that Pelosi’s grand strategy for a defining event to save her majority in the House is too little, too late.  They are already complaining that their own Department of Justice is not filing criminal charges against Republicans in great numbers.  Maybe it is a case of insufficient evidence – as it was with the Russian collusion mantra. 

Until Democrat leaders and strategists figure out the Party’s problem, they will be unable to fix it.  Most think it is a messaging problem.  They are not “getting the word out” – even though the Democrats’ message is on an eternal loop in the most major of the major mainstream media. 

The elitist Democrats blame the public.  To them, we are “not paying attention.”   We are “low information people.”  We are stupid and crazy.” (Joe Scarborough’s favorite description.)  We are “unpatriotic.”  We are “sexist, racist, homophobes.”   And on and on. 

Fortunately for America, the Democrats have gone way too far with their policies … their proposals … their accusations … and their ridiculously exaggerated doomsday narratives.  And even worse, the American people are seeing and feeling the failure of left-wing governance – at the kitchen table and around the world. 

For Democrats, it is a double-fault.  They are failing to deliver what the people want while still proposing what the people do not want.  And no amount of distracting politically motivated preposterous accusations is going to fool the American people.  We are not as gullible and stupid as Democrats think – at least not the vast majority of us. 

To my left-wing Democrat friends, I ask: “How do you explain that your barrage of accusations and fearmongering claims are not resonating with a majority of the people?”   Why is FOX so popular, and why do polls show Republicans winning in November.   

It is probably too late for Democrats to reform or change the trajectory for the 2022 midterm elections.  I just wonder how they will explain getting shellacked in November.
