Poll: Americans Experiencing Renewed Worry About Crime With Biden As President
Americans are experiencing renewed worry about crime under President Joe Biden‘s watch, according to a new Gallup poll.
Anxiety over crime has increased in recent years, with 80% of respondents reporting they are concerned a “great” or “fair” amount in 2022.
The number of those concerned a “great deal” has also seen a bump, reaching its previous high from 2016, with 53% reporting they share the sentiment. Twenty-seven percent reported they worry a “fair amount.”
Between 2016 and 2020, worries began to decline. Since 2020, however, the number has begun to climb again. Those reporting the most worry about crime are women, city residents, and Republicans, according to data.
