Republicans Vow Revenge On Who?
National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd has criticized Trump for perpetuating a ‘sanitized’ border view and refusing to visit some of the areas that have borne the brunt of the border crisis.
Rep. Mark Green, R-Tenn., has been selected by the House Steering Committee Monday to become chair of the House Homeland Security Committee. Green was selected over Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-Texas, who had received a lot of criticism in the past week over comments that some of those delaying the start of the new Congress by not supporting McCarthy were “terrorists.” He later apologized for his remark that terrorists should not be allowed to win saying that it was simply a “turn of phrase.”
Green said that as chairman he was going to work in order to create a more secure and strong border.
In a statement to Fox News Digital, he added that it was crucial for the border to be secure. He noted that they would work to empower officers to be able to complete their tasks and that they would hold President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas liable for the crisis they created.
Green had previously called for Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to resign because of the situation at the border. In an op-ed letter, he had written that the individual who was supposed to protect the border was allowing “potential terrorists full access to the United States.”
