Shut Up and Sing: Midler and Streisand Bring the Dumb
Judging from what we regularly see on the internet, we assume there’s a law that demands you use the word “legendary” when referring to Barbra Streisand and Bette Midler, so since we don’t want to get in any trouble with the feds, we’ll fall in line.
Ahem.
This week, legendary singers Bette Midler and Barbra Streisand waded their way into the political fray again, making comments that prove they are as dumb as they are successful.
Let’s start with Midler, who used her Twitter account to let her followers know that she’s not playing with a full deck. This weekend, having apparently watched some of the insane videos showing people losing their minds at various Black Friday sales, Midler announced that she’d figured out why these lunatics act the way they do.
“And how was YOUR Black Friday?” she tweeted. “No injuries, I hope! It’s incredible that we have to fight over STUFF. If there were a DECENT minimum wage, or if workers were treated fairly, and got a tiny portion of the kinds of salaries and bonuses CEOS pay themselves, we wouldn’t.”
Mmmhmm.
Bette Midler is worth $230 million, according to celebritynetworth.com
On to Babs…
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Streisand addressed something that’s become a hot topic of conversation on the left: Why those pesky white women refuse to get with the program and vote for Democrats!?
“It’s a terribly complex thing,” she said of women who voted for Trump. “A lot of women vote the way their husbands vote. They don’t believe enough in their own thoughts.”
Of Hillary’s failure, Streisand said: “Perhaps she made women feel unsuccessful.”
There you have it. People go nuts on Black Friday because the minimum wage is too low and CEO pay is too high. Women voted for Trump because their husbands told them to. They didn’t like Hillary Clinton because they felt like she was showing them up with her success. Some real timeless wisdom from these legendary singers.
Hey, can we get Cher to weigh in and complete this trilogy of stupid?
Oh man, sorry we asked…
