Trump at CIA Headquarters: “I Am So Behind You”
President Donald Trump headed to Langley on Saturday to tell the employees of the Central Intelligence Agency that he was on their side, despite what they may have heard from the media. Speaking to more than 400 CIA staffers, President Trump said he had great respect for the nation’s intelligence community.
“There is nobody that feels stronger about the intelligence community and the CIA than Donald Trump,” he said Saturday. “These are really special, amazing people. Very, very few people could do the job that you people do.”
Trump said that while CIA officers may have felt disrespected and unappreciated under the Obama administration, they would hold a place of honor in his.
“I am so behind you,” Trump said. “I know maybe sometimes you haven’t gotten the backing that you’ve wanted. You’re going to get so much backing.”
About his so-called feud with U.S. intelligence, Trump said it was little more than a media fiction. “I just want to let you know,” he said, “the reason you’re the number one stop is exactly the opposite.”
President Trump also said that the CIA would play an important role in the destruction of Islamist terrorist groups who posed a threat to the United States.
“We have to get rid of ISIS. We have no choice. Radical Islamic terrorism, it has to be eradicated,” said Trump.
As much as the media and the Democrats have tried to make it seem otherwise, Trump’s feud with the intelligence agencies was never about the spies and analysts. It was never about the patriots. It was never about the heroes who put themselves in mortal danger to keep America secure. It was always, always, always about President Obama and the men he selected to run the agencies.
For months, Obama and the media tried to use intelligence reports to de-legitimize Donald Trump and his election. To make the world believe that Trump was a puppet of Russian President Vladimir Putin. To make Americans believe that Moscow hijacked our democracy and installed an individual who was either complicit in the espionage or blackmailed by Russian kompromat. If Trump went too far in dismissing the evidence of Russian hacking, can you blame him? The Democrats were – nay, ARE – basically telling the country that Trump is guilty of treason!
We will learn one of two things very quickly: Either the Democrats were right and Trump is a Russian mole…or Obama’s intelligence chiefs went out of their way to sabotage Trump for political gain.
You can use what you know about Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton to make a prediction.
